The Colour of Surrender: Voided Shields is a series of embroideries on linen that use traditional whitework techniques.
This work is a response to the war in Gaza which erupted in its current iteration in October 2023. Whitework is an intense and painstakingly slow process and working in this way allows me to be still and commiserate.
